Awkwafina An American singer and actress began with humorous rap tracks that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. Her career expanded to Hollywood following the release of a series of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop training began as she was in her teens. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. In addition to having a book published, her other career was as a performer. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
